November 2015
By Susan Winn

On November 12th-15th, club members gathered at the Almond Tree RV Park in Chico, where Wagonmasters
Kenyons, Schippers, and Jacksons had planned a Thanksgiving outing “stuffed full” of festivities, food, and
fun! After “hello hugs” and visiting, we car pooled on Thursday evening to the Jehle’s lovely home where we
enjoyed a delicious Tortilla Soup and Salad dinner, provided by the Wagonmasters.

Following the Wagonmasters’ hearty egg burrito breakfast Friday morning, a group of interested ladies
accompanied Carol Kenyon to the town of Paradise for lunch and a quilt shop tour.  Those remaining in Chico
went to lunch at Kalico Kitchen, where the food was good and the prices reasonable.  That evening, we all car
pooled to the Italian Cottage Restaurant for dinner.  After dinner, we played LCR, with Bill Worley winning the
big pot at the end.

Saturday morning the Wagonmasters prepared a French Toast Casserole and Sausage breakfast, followed
by our Chapter meeting.  That afternoon, we enjoyed a very interesting tour of the Sierra Nevada Brewery,
and tasted 5 of their most popular beers.  Some members also ate lunch in the Brewery restaurant before the
tour.

Our Thanksgiving feast was Saturday night, with Wagonmasters providing perfectly roasted turkeys, gravy,
wine, and members bringing a dazzling array of side dishes and desserts!  Winner of the 50/50 drawing was
Dave Reimers!  Congratulations, Dave!

Honored guests for the evening were Norm and Judy Silva, who were presented with a certificate from the
Winnebago headquarters thanking them for their years of exemplary leadership in the WIT organization,
where they have been active members since the early 1990s.Norm was a Charter Member of the Chardonnay
Travelers chapter when it was formed in 1995.  Both Norm and Judy have served as Chapter and State
officers, as well as attending many GNRs over the years.  Earlier this fall, the Silvas were voted Honorary
Membership status in both the Chardonnay Travelers Chapter and the California WIT Club.

Following a great get-away breakfast, we all pitched in to help stack furniture and clean the clubhouse before
heading the RVs back down the highway, having once again enjoyed a wonderful weekend together.
